Saying people rely on sites more is a sweeping generalization. I can link you to several active shells with inactive sites.

Messages at their largest are only a few kilobytes. 15 servers? 100 linkshells each? Not even close to anything significant.

here is the thing though... they still have sites active or not. I was just sharing my experience not trying to make a generalized statement. But fact is i've been in a decent amount of LS's/guilds/clans etc. everyone does infact seem to have a site. I'm actually trying to find one w/o one. I just want a LS to conversate, not really wanting a "high end" LS atm.

How long are you going to defend SE for things like this? Seriously it is unacceptable that introducing something as basic as LSMES is a big deal for their programmers. This is a corporation for christ's sake, not a 17 year old student who has to get it done for his exam. And besides, whether LSMES is important or not isn't even the freaking point, there are many other things that are in jeopardy because of this coding/programming/server problem (Mail box, ingame messaging, LS management, ... need I say more?).

You just defend them blindly and if they listened to people like you they would never take a single step forward. "Hey SE, screw having levels, they're so useless in MMOs anyway, keep up the great work!" Really? Come on, open your eyes.

Personally I'm getting tired of seeing the same "implementing this will take a lot of time" when it really shouldn't. At least keep us informed on how the server issues are being handled so we're not in the dark so much.

This is not directed at you Reinheart but I thought I would quote this because it affects all players who currently play fullscreen or want to play fullscreen.

Although I've seen people adamant about not using workarounds to get around the failings of the game, I would like to recommend to anyone who wants to play fullscreen to play the game through Steam. The reasons for this is that it works with Steam overlay, meaning you can do things such as browse the internet, chat with friends over steam and even take screenshots using the new screenshot feature on Steam.

Since you can browse the internet using Steam overlay whilst ingame, you would then be able to check the lodestone.

If you play FFXIV fullscreen or are looking to play it fullscreen, there is almost no excuse to not get Steam. It takes only a couple of minutes to install, then another couple of minutes to register. After that it takes like 30 seconds to add the game's .exe file and then play the game.

I only wish that someone from SE would recommend to players that Steam is great for when you want to play fullscreen so that word about it would spread better but sadly I can't see this happening any time soon.

Here is the thing though you guys insulted me first and infact are also not funny thinking about whar I just said or reading it 1/2 way if at all. You can have all 8 LS chats open to you unlike in ffxi where you can only have 1 active. Though you need to switch to talk all chat rooms are vied at the same time. The message appears when you enter the room, in ffxi your already there. So if your already in the chat room, how would a message work? You simply can not expect or even consider the amount of programing that would entail. Also I meant to say ACTING LIKE

I personally use a work-around but not every shell I'm in has a dedicated web-page or uses the lodestone blog -_-.

I like to use Photoshop when playing XIV so I play in a window the same resolution of my desktop. I'd love to play at a higher resolution though as my desktop resolution is optimized for my Photoshop and web browsing. Not my video games that I generally play at a "Much higher" resolution.

LS messages were just flat out nice to have. I can't see why just having all 8 shells "Enabled" at once would stop from allowing a script to kick-off when you actually switched shells.

Like I said in my post on the previous page you can use an internet browser and view the lodestone if you run the game through Steam. In fact I am posting on here using the overlay browser while logged in right now while the game is full-screen.

I love playing FFXIV in full-screen ... and now I find out there's a program that let's you play it full-screen while browsing the net? Awesome let me download it! .... *Searching internet for steam* Hm ... steam is the technical term for invisible water vapor ... doesn't looked very downloadable to me ... think you can supply a link to the software? ^^
